A 7 DAY BIRDING SAFARIDAY ONE: bIRDING SAFARIArrive at Entebbe International Airport, transfer to your Hotel. If you arrive in the morning, your guide will take you to Botanical gardens Entebbe. Here you will be able to observe or watch golden backed weaver, swamp flycatcher, broad billed roller, open billed stork, orange weaver, sedge warbler, Ross’s turaco, splendid glossy starling, red chested sunbird, squacco heron, grey headed gull, great red warbler and many others. Dinner and overnight Windsor Lake Victoria. DAY TWO: bIRDING SAFARIFollowing breakfast, you will depart to Mabamba Swamp. Mabamba is the best spot to observe(watching) the magnificent African shoebill in the wild. Have a stopover over in Mpigi Swamp for papyrus gonolek, white winged warbler, papyrus rarities, and blue-headed coucal. Continue to Mabamba wetland. Most of the birding is done on the canoe. Look out for the splendid nervous shoebill stork both in the sky discovering the heights and down in the muddy swamp, observe the swamp flycatcher, black crake African water rail, squacco heron, lesser jacana, purple swamp hen, common moorhen, African jacana, African pygmy goose, white faced whistling duck, blue breasted bee-eater, winding cistcola, goliath heron and many more. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel. DAY THREE: bIRDING SAFARIFollowing breakfast, we will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park as you bird( bird watch) en-route. Make a stop over in Mbarara for lunch. Queen Elizabeth boasts over 640 bird species. Key species seen here include; pelicans, kingfishers, African fish Eagle, African skimmers, thick-knees, martins, swallow, weavers, raptors, storks, canaries and grassland specialties. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. DAY FOUR: bIRDING SAFARI Begin the day with a morning cup of coffee after which go for birding/ bird watching on the open savanna. Return to the lodge for lunch and a chance to relax by the side of the swimming pool after which go for a boat ride/cruise on Kazinga channel. Kazinga channel joins Lake Edward and Lake George, which gives it a magnificent site in a beautiful environment with its various gorgeous water birds along the channel. DAY FIVE: bIRDING SAFARIThis morning, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth N.P in Ishasha where there are probabilities of seeing the tree-climbing lions. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is habitat to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the gorillas. This Forest is still one of the best virgin tropical rain forests in East Africa. Birding begins early in the morning with the early risers at the camp. Dinner and overnight at the Luxury tented camp. DAY SIX: bIRDING SAFARI
After breakfast with our packed lunch we head out for the whole day birding/ bird watching in the forest. This forest has over 300 bird species recorded. Among these includes; red throated alethe, forest robin, Narina’s trogon, pale breasted illadopsis equatorial akalat, montane oriole, grey throated barbet, hairy breasted barbet, African broadbill, black bee eater, Pettit’s cuckoo shrike and black faced rufous warbler..
