Kireka Hill

Ten kilometers from the city centre along Jinja Road is Kireka trading centre. The centre is at the base of Kireka hill, 4,189 feet. Previously an insignificant hill hosting the Seventh Day Adventist church headquarters, Kireka has gained prominence since the Kabaka (king) of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi set up a palace atop the hill.
The hill affords a pictures view of Lake Victoria and nearly islands, and the expensive Bukasa wetland. Mandela International Sports Stadium is to the east of Kireka hill.

The endangered mountain gorillas are almost exitinct with only 750 in number shared between Bwindi National Park, Parc de volcanoes National park of Rwanda and Virunga of Congo.
