Mbuya Hill

Mbuya stands at 4,269 feet above sea level and is mainly a residential area. During the Buganda monarchical times, the country chief of Kyadondo known by the title of Kaggo (which means whip in Luganda, the language of the Baganda) had his offices on Mbuya Hill.

Today, all trace of Buganda kingdom is no more, having been replaced by palatial residential and commercial buildings.
The office and home of the papal nuncio is located at Mbuya near Our Lady of Africa Catholic church. The hill is also home to an army barracks and the army’s referral hospital.
At the base of the hill is Bugolobi shopping centre with a local market, pharmacies, supermarkets and roadside shop-bars, locally known as kafunda (plural bufunda).

Gorilla Trekking

The endangered mountain gorillas are almost exitinct with only 750 in number shared between Bwindi National Park, Parc de volcanoes National park of Rwanda and Virunga of Congo. Safaris to Uganda's remaining mountain gorillas in Bwindi NP is memorable experience that contribute greatly to the survival of these mountain gorillas.More information on the mountain gorillas
