THE SPLENDID GROUP GORILLA SAFARI

July 18: Jinja
The guide will pick you from your hotel and drive you to Jinja. When you reach in Jinja you will go for a half day White water rafting. The driver guide will then take you back to Kampala for dinner and over night at Hotel Africana.

July 19: NGAMBA ISLAND 

Drive to Entebbe to take up your boat to Ngamba Island Chimp sanctuary. You will have a chance to encounter chimpanzee feeding at 2pm. After that relax and wait for dinner and over night.

Accommodation: G and C camp on the Island.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch or packed lunch and Dinner

July 20: NGAMBA ISLAND CHIMPANZEE TREKKING

The guide will take you for a walk in search for the young orphaned chimps. Have lunch and board a boat to Entebbe from where the guide will collect you to drive you to Kampala for over night stay.

July 21: MURCHISION FALLS NP

Begin the panoramic drive to the northwest through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town to Murchison Falls National Park. You will be arriving in time for lunch at the spectacular site situated at the top of the fall where you can see the Nile's perfected beauty! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from up to one km squeezed through a 7 meter canyon dropping 150 meters with a thunderous roar, creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile 'The Murchison Falls' enjoy the sunset as you return to the lodge.

Enjoy the superb comfort and service of Paraa Safari Lodge or Nile Safari Camp.

July 22. MURCHISION FALLS NP GAME DRIVE , LAUNCH CRUISE

Take an early morning game drives on the northern bank. Your guide will help you spot elephant, lion, cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bush back, bohor reed buck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. After a lunch picnic, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the 'Devil's Cauldron', marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over the 17km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This is also the zone of many birds, species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. After taking shorts of the photogenic Murchison Falls, return to Paraa Lodge or Nile Safari Camp for dinner and overnight.

July 23 ' MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON'

Drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through the verdant countryside and pass traditional homesteads and farms. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled 'Mountains of the Moon'. Dinner and overnight at the tree house at Kanyanchu Tourist centre.

July 24 KIBALE FOREST NP CHIMPANZE TRACKING

Indulge in a half day search of chimpanzee and ten other primates including, phoestes, red-colobus, red-tailed and Grey-cheeked Mangabey. The guide will provide an explanation on not only primates, but also on all the forest's fauna and flora and will insure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters. After the tracking relax and after lunch drive to Bigodi ecological site for butterflies and bird viewing. Over night stay at the tree house.

July 25. QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After morning breakfast, Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range. A game drive en route may yield viewing a lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, hyena and a variety of antelope species. After lunch drive to the creator region for sight seeing. Visit Lake Katwe salt factory to see local methods of making salt.

Dinner and over night at Mweya safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge.
Meals included: breakfast and Lunch and Dinner.

July 26: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK GAME DRIVE LAUNCH CRUISE

An early game drive today. Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Game drives in this park, with the massive Rwenzori as backdrop, provides excellent opportunities to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck. These two game drives and the boat trip (taken prior) are memorable methods of discovering a vast array of Uganda’s wildlife. After lunch, Enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward.

This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos. This launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species.

Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or the Jacana Safari Lodge.

July 27 KYAMBURA GORGE –BWINDI

You will be driven to Kyambura gorge for chimp tracking in the rain forest. Even if you fail to see the chimps, the forest walk itself is rewarding and memorable! Drive through the 'Switzerland of Africa area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Kisoro or Bwindi. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Home stead.

July 28 GORILLA TRACKING

There will be an early morning entry into the gorilla sanctuary. The rainforest is spectacular. It offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animals’ trails allowing access to tourists. Mammals recorded include the endangered Mt. Gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and others. This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas. The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movements of the marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare moving, awesome and exciting adventure! The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead.

July 29: Lake Bunyonyi

Drive to Kabale a region known as the 'Switzerland of Africa' with beautiful terraced landscape and rolling hills and valleys. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages.

July 30: BOAT RIDE THEN CONNECT TO KISORO

After breakfast, we do a boat ride inside Lake Bunyonyi to various islands inside the lake for bird viewing and sight seeing. Return to the Resort for lunch. After lunch the guide will drive you to Kisoro and cross the border. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla nest Camp in Rwanda. B,L,D.

July 31: TREK THE DIAN FOSSEY MOUNTAIN GORILLAS

After early breakfast get set to Virunga volcanoes for another trek of the Dian Fossey Mountain gorillas. There after lunch,(Option) visit the Karisoke Research Centre where Dian Fossey spent 20 years studying gorillas. Over night at Gorilla Nest Camp.
Meals included: breakfast, Lunch or packed lunch and Dinner

AUGUST 1st: BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY

Transfer to Kigali for your international flight at Kanombe international airport. Alternatively we drive back to Uganda for your flight at Entebbe international airport. This will depend on your flight schedule.

PLEASE KINDLY TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING
1. Gorilla Tracking:

  • Gorilla tracking permits are booked long in advance and the minimum age is 16years to be allowed to go tracking. Every June the prices for gorilla tracking are reviewed and in most cases they increase. We therefore, pay and confirm the permits immediately the safari is confirmed with us to avoid price variations and hikes to our clients.

2. The Safari costs include;

  • A Professional English speaking Driver guide, skilled in Wildlife encountering, completed over 300+ safari trips, excellent performances, very friendly and knowledgeable.
  • Excellent 4WD Safari vehicle; PRIVATE VEHICLE –a window seat to each person whilst on game drives is a guarantee.
  • 3 meals a day that is; breakfast, lunch and dinner whilst on   safari.
  • Access to open roof(s) to be able to stand in vehicle, whilst on game drives.
  • Accommodation in lodges with private bathroom facilities;
  • All National Park and Conservation Entry Fees.
  • Launch cruise along the Kazinga channel and Murchison falls.

3. The Safari cost excludes:

  • Beverages
  • Laundry
  • Telephone
  • All activities or excursions not mentioned in program
  • Airport departure taxes and Fuel Surcharge
  • Mineral Bottled water
  • Any Medical expenses
  • Evacuation emergency fee
  • Tipping to your safari crew; Safari driver / guide
  • Lodge Porter or Waiters
  • Items of personal nature and all not mentioned in cost.

INFORMATION ON BOOKING CONDITIONS
a) BOOKING PROCEDURES:

  • We require a signed contract sent to us by fax together with a deposit of USD 30% of total cost per person, to confirm per trip. (Kindly refer to our Terms of booking which form the basis of our contract with you).

b) MODE OF PAYMENTS
    Accepted as follows;

  • Bank wire transfer provided it’s credited onto our account prior to starting date of the trip.
  • Travelers’ cheques (TC) incur a surcharge of USD20,-per person to the total balance to cover bank-charges. Kindly bring larger TC denominations bill ie. 500/1000 bills if possible.
  • Master or Visa Credit Cards incur a surcharge of 10% of the total price added to the Total balance to cover bank charges, provided charges are approved 60 days prior to actual day of the tour because they take long long process to the funds into the bank.
  • For Cash payment, no bank charges are incurred.
  • Bankers Cheques are allowed provided it is received 60 days prior to Trip Arrival.
  • We do not accept Personal Cheques or credit cards unless prior arrangement has been made and accepted.

c) FINAL BULLETIN ON THE TRIP PROGRAM:

  • Once we receive your confirmation, the booking file is complete; we shall provide a 'Final Bulletin in preparation for your trip to Africa. That is on what you need, what to carry and many others necessary prerequisites.
