WITHOUT USING A TOUR COMPANY IN UGANDA IT’S HARD TO DO GORILLA TRACKING

Gorilla Tracking is one of the outstanding tourist attraction in Uganda just as it is in Rwanda but without a gorilla permit it is completely impossible to attain your dream of setting your eyes on the African Giants in their natural habitat. Uganda is one of the few countries that took up arms to fight and ensure the survival of the last remaining mountain gorillas in the Wild. It features in “State of Apes” a book that is now available on Uganda Travel Guide now.

Well do not get a disappointment today when you take on a self cated safari in Uganda and fail to by gorilla permits like my friend
“I had wanted to hire a car and drive through Uganda, but after spending over a month trying to secure gorilla tracking permits to no avail, I was told that often the Ugandan Wildlife Authority are uncooperative with individual groups of tourists as they are paid of my tour companies, whether this is true I’m not sure but I tried contacting them by both email and phone for over a month and received no correct info and was just led around in circles with false email addresses etc…”

One thing you should bear in mind that last minute safaris do not include Gorilla Tracking as Gorilla permites are always on a high demand and its always first come first serve. I guess the travel company should have told you that if you have booked with one. For that reason if at any one time you would like to see mountain Gorillas in Uganda you will need to book your Gorilla safari atleast 2 – 3 months before your safari so that you can be advised accordingly by the safari company organising your safari on availability in case they are found to be an available.

There is one reason as to why a self careted traveler can miss a Gorilla tracking in Uganda. It may sound some what doubtable but in most cases it happens and it may at one moment happen to you. So if it hasn’t do not say that I did not tell you. UWA the organization in cahrge of issuing out Gorilla permites to so ever would like to go tracking in Uganda primarily pays more attention to tour operators than independent travellers and you will need to book your safari through a travel company.
